Why people share their salary information?

Years ago, talking about salaries was a taboo, it was even considered rude and disrespectful. Talking about your paycheck, compensation plan or economic benefits an bonus was an exclusive conversation between employee, human resources and your manager.

Today, talking about pay has moved from taboo topic to a daily colleague conversation. Research shows that sharing salary information is no longer something done anonymously on websites — 37% of professionals say talking about pay now is more acceptable than five years ago, a recent Korn Ferry survey found.
